How do I know if therapy is right for me?
Therapy isn’t just for moments of crisis. Many people come to therapy when they notice patterns holding them back, when stress feels overwhelming, or when they want to improve their relationships and sense of self. If you’ve ever thought “something needs to change, but I don’t know how,” therapy can be a powerful place to start.
Do you offer virtual therapy?
Yes. We offer both in-person and virtual therapy to fit your needs. Virtual sessions are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant platform and mirror the experience of in-person therapy, but with added flexibility and convenience.
Will what I share remain confidential?
Absolutely. Confidentiality is the foundation of a strong therapeutic relationship. What you share with your therapist stays private, unless there’s a concern for your immediate safety or the safety of others. Otherwise, your conversations are kept completely between you and your provider.
How does insurance work at MW?
Like many private practices in New York City, we are an out-of-network provider. This means we don’t accept insurance directly, but most of our clients are reimbursed for 60–80% of session costs once their deductible is met. We verify your coverage ahead of time, submit claims on your behalf, and guide you through the reimbursement process to make things as seamless as possible.
What can I expect in my first session?
Your first session is all about getting to know you. You’ll meet with your therapist for about 45 minutes to discuss your goals, background, and what brought you to therapy. This session is also your chance to ask questions and see if the fit feels right. From there, you and your therapist will create a plan tailored to your needs.
How soon can I start therapy?
We know that when you’re ready for support, you don’t want to wait. That’s why Manhattan Wellness offers same-week appointments whenever possible. Most clients are able to schedule their first session within days of their consultation call. If you have specific scheduling needs, we’ll do everything we can to accommodate you quickly.

Navigating insurance can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone. At Manhattan Wellness, we’ll verify your out-of-network benefits and handle the claims process for you — so you can focus on your therapy, not the paperwork.
