"We must learn to give ourselves the same grace and kindness that we would give a friend or loved one."
Katherine approaches her clients with an open mind and compassion that allows them to bring their true selves to therapy, ensuring that the space feels client-centered, authentic and individualized to each client’s personality and story. In this way, she hopes to work alongside clients to help them learn to lean into their strengths and inner resiliency, love themselves, and establish healthy boundaries and relationships.
Katherine’s warmth, lightheartedness, and candidness defines her ability to connect with and understand her clients. Katherine understands that starting or restarting therapy can be daunting and overwhelming for most, and believes that it is important to give her clients the space and grace to get comfortable with the therapeutic process and environment. She advocates therapy should be a place where clients not only feel safe and comfortable to explore whatever emotions or thoughts come up, but that they also should not have to take themselves too seriously. Katherine believes that therapy- though it may feel difficult at times- should also feel approachable and accessible no matter where you are in your healing journey.
As an advocate for overall wellness, Katherine understands that this process is not linear, and believes in the inherent dignity, strength, and resilience inside all of her clients!
With her background as a yoga instructor, Katherine’s therapeutic process is rooted in mindfulness and self-loving practices. Katherine focuses on empowering her clients to cultivate a strong sense of self, and approaches all clients with warmth and open mindedness that is trauma-informed and honors clients’ personal history and identities.
Katherine employs a psychodynamic approach in helping clients notice personal patterns to find connections in how they have always operated, and where this may stem from. She focuses on making the therapeutic process collaborative, where clients feel empowered to work alongside her to pinpoint these connections and be more mindful of when they are reproducing learned ways of functioning. Together, Katherine and her clients work through past traumas and conditioning to help the client be more mindful and kinder to themselves in the present.
Katherine works with adult clients across the gender and sexuality spectrum, helping her clients navigate common life obstacles including relationships and dating, family relationships, self esteem and body image, health and wellbeing, and life transitions.
