"Therapy is a partnership where we collaborate to uncover your strengths and use them to overcome life's obstacles"
With her warm energy and vibrant personality, Colette fosters a safe, comfortable space where her clients feel supported and understood as their most authentic selves. Colette recognizes the magnitude of challenges that impact an individual’s mental health, and is committed to helping her clients navigate both their most difficult and most celebratory times in their lives.
Colette’s clients have described her as personable, thoughtful and reliable. She listens without judgement, and will challenge her clients where she sees fit for their growth. And of course, she always leaves room for both tears and laughter.
Colette encourages her clients to embrace their therapeutic journey as an opportunity for adventure, instead of focusing solely on the destination. She supports her clients in digging deeper into their inner selves and shining light on ideas that may have been previously unexplored. Colette helps her clients understand the root of their challenges, and empowers them to make informed and healthy choices to live the life that they want.
Colette is a firm believer that mental health should be regarded with the same level of commitment and care as physical health. She believes therapy is the ultimate investment her clients can make for their current and future selves; the affirmation that they deserve to live a life that is meaningful, fulfilling, and aligned with their values.
Colette views each of her clients from a holistic perspective, beyond what they are bringing into each session. Most importantly, Colette sees her clients as the experts of their own experience, and that their capacity for resilience and healing is already within themselves. Her job is to assist each of her clients in the discovery of these already existing capabilities.
Colette integrates a variety of modalities and therapeutic approaches, including Psychodynamic Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing, and is also certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). Through these modalities, Colette assists her clients in identifying maladaptive thought patterns, uncovering the meaning and impact of early life experiences, boundary setting, and empowered decision making. In her work, she also supports her clients in how to navigate challenges, overcome obstacles and unlock their full potential.
Colette has an extensive background in supporting individuals experiencing anything from day to day stressors, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, life transitions, trauma and loss. She understands the bravery that comes with the decision to start therapy and believes it is present in every step toward self-improvement.
Colette’s therapeutic style is non-judgemental, client-centered and collaborative. Colette is dedicated to having her clients leave their sessions not only feeling heard, but empowered and equipped to continue making progress toward the life that they want to lead outside of session.
