“Change begins when you stop letting your thoughts define your life, and start choosing the life you want to live."
Amanda is a warm, grounded, and genuinely curious therapist who believes that some of the biggest changes in life begin with the willingness to pause, get honest with yourself, and ask, “Is this actually working for me?” She brings empathy and a nonjudgmental presence into the room, while also being someone who will challenge you when she sees a belief or expectation that may be keeping you stuck. Amanda understands that change rarely happens overnight, and that even positive transitions can bring uncertainty, grief, and self-doubt. Her goal is to create a space where clients feel safe enough to be themselves and empowered to take meaningful steps toward the life they want.
Before becoming a therapist, Amanda built a career working in technology and marketing, where she experienced the pressures of achievement and identity development. Her own career transition into social work deepened her belief that it is never too late to reconsider what you want and create a life more aligned with your values. As a yoga and fitness instructor, she also brings an appreciation for mindfulness and the connection between the mind and body into her work. These experiences guide her belief on the importance of learning how to move through life with greater intention and self-compassion.
Amanda views the therapeutic relationship as a collaboration, where clients serve as the experts on their own lives, and she serves as a supportive guide. You can expect Amanda to ask thought-provoking questions and remember the small details. Drawing on therapeutic approaches, including DBT skills, CBT, and mindfulness techniques, she supports clients in strengthening emotional regulation and making decisions that are meaningful to them.
Her work focuses on helping clients manage anxiety, cope with depression, strengthen self-worth, process difficult losses, navigate life transitions, and couples and relationships. Her clinical style prioritizes an individualized and goal-oriented approach to therapy. Together, you’ll identify what you want to achieve, uncover what may be getting in the way, and develop realistic steps toward your goals.
