all about emma

Emma brings warmth, compassion, and a welcoming energy to therapy, creating a judgment-free space where clients feel comfortable opening up and being themselves. Her calm presence and bubbly personality make even difficult conversations feel approachable, while her genuine curiosity helps foster meaningful therapeutic relationships built on trust and connection.

Emma works with individuals navigating anxiety, self-esteem, relationships, life transitions, and patterns that leave them feeling stuck. She has a particular passion for working with individuals experiencing Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), helping them navigate intrusive thoughts, uncertainty, and cycles of overthinking. She also enjoys working with couples, supporting partners in strengthening their connection, improving communication, and navigating challenges together.

Emma believes meaningful change often involves vulnerability, uncertainty, and stepping outside of one’s comfort zone. She encourages clients to approach these experiences with curiosity and self-compassion as they work toward more authentic and fulfilling lives. Outside of therapy, Emma enjoys staying active, particularly through her love of sports, and brings that same collaborative spirit into her work with clients.

how she works

Emma understands how frustrating it can feel to recognize that something isn’t working without knowing how to change it. Her approach balances deeper self-exploration with practical tools, helping clients understand recurring patterns, navigate challenges, and make meaningful changes in their everyday lives.

Emma integrates psychodynamic therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and solution-focused therapy, tailoring treatment to each client’s unique needs and goals. In her work with OCD, she incorporates Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Inference-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (I-CBT) to help clients navigate intrusive thoughts, break free from compulsive patterns, and build greater confidence in managing uncertainty.

Emma is also trained in the Gottman Method for couples therapy, helping partners strengthen emotional intimacy, communicate more effectively, navigate conflict, and rebuild trust. Whether working with individuals or couples, she approaches therapy as a collaborative process, empowering clients to develop greater self-awareness, emotional resilience, and healthier relationships with themselves and others.
